Just a weird collection of bits...
Think it's going to be mostly music.
I am discovering the Uke...
Mr.Tom Waits; Tonesmith Extraordinar.
Just love this guy! Think first album i heard was "The Heart of Saturday Night". It was 1990 and the album was already 15 years old. Although he went of on a totally different ride later on i think i kind of grew with him and i don't think he ever made an album that i don't like.
2 good links to get some info on him are tomwaitslibrary.com. Probably the most complete thing on the web about any artist, and eyeballkid.blogspot.com a blog that is constantly being updated. Check it out!
Recently discovered, C.W. Stoneking.
Saw him recently, it was the second time (that i new of) he played in London. First time i was to late buying tickets... One of my friends who never heard him before the concert compared him with Mr. Waits but he knows i am a Waits fan so that probably planted the seed. Nothing compares with Mr.Waits... No decent websites that i am aware of.
This http://cwstoneking.com is his own.

The Steampunk Workshop
Bob Log III
Can't remember where i first hared of him, but he ended up being the last gig i saw in what was probably my favourite venue in London, The Luminaire. (Ha! as i type this and put the link in, they seem to do some more gigs!) Didn't know what to expect but it was one of the most original things i've seen in a long time. Biggest surprise though was this. Although the video is obviously speeded up, he actually does the song life... same speed.
This is his site.
I quite liked this, not so sure if the horse did...
Actually, don't think he bothered.
I seem to remember to enjoyed myself that day.
God knows what happened to my shoes...

my own brilliantly casted cinematic wonder.
"spanking the monkey monkey" Shot this in the Kruger Park in SA. We just had our first digital camera and this was actually the first video i shot with it. He wasn't doing what he ended op doing when i decided to start filming, but when i was done fiddling with the camera's little knob to set it to film, he decided to fiddle with his...
I wished i didn't have to laugh so loud that he noticed but love the way he seems embarrassed... |
